I’ve seen people talking about marvel’s Runaways on here before but i can’t remember who so here’s as general question, any good?
A discount bookshop near where I live has started getting loads of marvel in and selling them for £3 instead of £20+ I know enough about most X titles or a dash about…
The Works by any chance?
If that’s the case, the Volume of Runaways they’ve got is the Terry Moore one, Rock Zombies, which is an alright read, but nowhere near as good as the Vaughan runs.
NYX is the Liu mini which is quite good, but a bit of a continuity cluster IMO.
But yeah, I bought them both for £3.

A few new pieces on the sketchblog…
Phil Noto

And an amazing commission by Yanick Paquette (which I can’t show fullsize due to my theme, but it’s up over at http://philsafpage.wordpress.com/ )

This was an idea I’d had ticking round in my brain for a while now that kinda summed up my interest in Alpha Flight and was something I’ve never seen done before, that I really wanted a Canadian artist to do. When it was announced that Yanick was coming over to England for Thought Bubble and that he was taking pre-show commissions I jumped at the chance and was so pleased that I did.
Definitely up there as one of my favourite pieces.

I think maybe those guys might be Canadians. (from Wolverine and the X-Men #19, words by Jason Aaron and pictures by Nick Bradshaw)
See, this is fail on so many levels:
1) Everyone makes these jokes about Alpha Flight. Everyone. It takes more brain power to form a spit bubble than it does to make “Hey! Alpha Flight is Canadian!” jokes.
2) Puck has so much more potential than this, but I suppose I should expect no more from a writer who seems to think that researching the characters will give him scabies.
3) Finally, turning himself into an avatar for an evil god-type-creature isn’t even the most egregious of the Langkowski failures. Seriously, you could do a whole issue on those…
Feh.
Yup. Typical Lobdell-esque treatment.
Never mind the fact that Walter actually has teaching qualifications and experience…

So…
… apparently I’m ‘a threat.’
I am no longer allowed to talk to my friend of X years, who by the way I’ve known X years longer than you, because I am ‘a threat.’
I’m obviously walking my friend home because I want to have sex with her.
Of course.
Nothing at all to do with actually giving a shit about her welfare in this fucking shitty excuse for a city we both happen to live in.
Yes we have banter, yes we have injokes; it doesn’t fucking mean I want to be a narrow-minded caveman twat like you.
I have no fucking designs on my friend. I’ve never even thought of her in that way, because I am a genuine human being with a spine.
If I ‘wanted her’ I would have professed my love X years ago.
Why can a male not be close to a female?
To have a text message telling me that I’m ‘a threat’ and that I’ve had to be blocked on twitter and Facebook and had my number deleted?
For fuck’s actual sake.
I’m far too old for this drama.
You’ve put her in the hardest position ever and I do not hold it against her because I’ve never had a bad word to say about you and because I know I’ll still be here to pick up the pieces when you’re done being a controlling bell-end and I’m still not ‘a threat.’
Blah.
